Course Overview:

Brookline's course is the most up-and-down course in the conference. The race begins in a field where the runners run a straightaway to a back area of the park with a hill that goes up and wraps around a tree. The runners then go around a pond, back up and around the field, and up a massive hill that peaks with a nice view of the Boston skyline. The runners then go down the hill, come part way back up it, then around the hill following the road. Then the runners repeat this loop and finish with a backwards loop around the pond and finish where they started. The course is mostly run on grass, with a bit of pavement and a gravel path around the pond.

Hill

Hill

Once you run across the field, there is a downhill that leads into a fairly steep hill that goes up and wrap around a large tree. It's comprised of soft, thick grass that can be really wet if it has rained recently

Another Hill

About half a mile into the race, runners must run up a huge hill that is very steep and goes up a good distance. The JV race runs this hill once, while the Varsity race runs it twice. At the top there are very nice views of the Boston skyline.

Even More Hills

After runners reach the top of the previous hill, they run back down the back side of it, make a hairpin turn, then race a good way back up it. They run around a stone structure in another hairpin turn, and run back down to the bottom of the hill where they then wrap around it back to where the race starts.
