Course Overview:
Needham's course at Cutler Park is a very flat, shaded course that follows a trail around Cutler Pond. The trail remains wide for a majority of the race, with a little narrowness towards the end as it approaches the finish line. The terrain is very consistent besides the short stretch of pavement and gravel from the finish to the turn after the start line. Overall, this course is great to race but not so ideal for spectators, being a course with 1 big loop.

Gate
Gate
Right after the first stretch after the starting line, there is a gate right as the course makes the left-hand turn. If closed, there is little space for runners to pass, creating a backup.
Narrowness
Narrow Trail
About 800 meters from the finish line, the trail becomes very narrow for about 400 meters. It is especially narrow early in the season when the trees are still full. Early in the season, it is only about 1-2 runners wide while later in the season it has enough space for about 3 runners. Plan kick accordingly
